RUCPAC Releases Voting Record of Sen. David Brock Smith of Oregon’s First Senate District.
Roseburg Ore. The Republican Unity Caucus, PAC has released the voting history of Sen. David Brock Smith. RUCPAC Caucus President, Ben Edtl, put out the following statement to Republican voters in Oregon:
“How many progressive, socialist and communist bills are acceptable from your Republican representatives in the Oregon State Legislature? How is the Oregon Republican Party going to gain any ground and exact political balance in Oregon when our most powerful politicians support the worst ideas of the Democrat Party? The voting record of David Brock Smith indicates, beyond little doubt, that our representation in Salem has been, is and will continue to be for sale.”
Republican Senator David Brock Smith was appointed last year after serving in the House of Representatives since 2016. More than one-third of his votes supported some of the most radical Democrat legislation brought by Kate Brown, Tina Kotek, Rob Wagner and Dan Rayfield including the taxpayer funded tampons in elementary school bathrooms. However, some of his most damaging bills, he sponsored himself. He voted YES on SB 762 in 2021, known as the “Wildfire Mapping Bill” that prevents financing of rural properties in Oregon and helped Tianqiao Chen, a Chinese Communist Billionaire, become the largest private landowner in Oregon. Chen used this bill to buy up rural properties from Oregonians who could no longer afford the insurance to live in their own homes. He was Chief Sponsor of HB 3375 that paved the way for installation of a 250 square mile offshore wind energy industrial complex off the coast of Coos Bay which will increase energy costs for all Oregonians, destroy hundreds of thousands of birds, wales and fish each year and end up a graveyard of trash in about 15 years.
