Democrats have defunded the most important functions of government like public safety and road maintenance while synthetically systemically driving up the cost of power, food, water, transportation and housing with taxes they need to pay for extraordinary commitments to universal healthcare and the proven failure of “green” energy. Despite the “Bidenomics” disaster, which has put the United States into economic depression, 90% of Americans hurt less than we do in Oregon. Everyone has experienced the sticker shock of a single bag of groceries and most of us are feeling the painful, ever-increasing cost of utilities, phone service, internet, dining out and more. But most people don’t know that in 2021 Democrats in Salem implemented the devastating Corporate Activities Tax (CAT). The CAT tax is a hidden sales tax that compounds exponentially through the supply chain on every single item we buy, consume or rent including housing. And because no business can afford to pay it, this is absorbed and passed on all the way to you. But this isn’t enough. The Democrat plan to toll every highway in every metro area is shocking. But that’s still not enough. Governor Tina Kotek wants the Democrat controlled legislature to consider an overt retail sales tax (on top of the CAT tax) in the 2023 short legislative cycle. And, in the past three years, Democrats in Salem passed more than a dozen bills to chip away at the kicker.

Just this year, Democrat Senate President Rob Wagner boasted that the “State of Oregon has more money and revenue than at any time in history.” It’s no wonder that homelessness, business closures and financial stress is at an all time high in Oregon too.
